In December 2011 some of our most popular forklift truck attachments for this period have been put to the test by Ability Handling Ltd. After waking up and opening the curtains to see a sheet of white covering the ground it was clearly going to be a busy day on the roads as snowy conditions usually caused much havoc.

On arriving at our office the yard where everyone normally parked their cars was covered in snow which was up to 4 inches thick. Our sales director Lee had a great idea and brought out the forklift truck with the snow plough attachment. He then used this as a way of clearing the snow so that when his other colleagues arrived they would be able to park at ease rather than being snowed in.

As it was particularly slippy on the yard it was decided that Lee would also try out our forklift snow chains. These were to help him guide the forklift through the snow and to obtain a certain amount of grip. After all this was clear and he was not sliding all over the place it was then decided by Lee that he would try out another one of our products.

The Winter Essentials pack was just what he needed; the pack contains 200kg capacity of grit/rock salt storage bin which he placed on the yard so that if it got really slippy in places people could help themselves and distribute the rock salt.

Obviously the pack also contained the rock salt to go into the storage bin; these were four 20kg bags so there was plenty for use on our yard.

Just  in case anyone did actually get snowed in Lee left a snow shovel from the pack on top of the salt storage bin so the rest of the staff could dig their way out if they really needed to although we do not think anyone actually needed too!

Finally he used the 54kg capacity pedestrian walk behind gritter/rock salt spreader to ensure that all the pathways leading to the office and any which were frequently used were gritted and so no one could slip and fall.

All the other staff was extremely pleased when they eventually arrived around a hour later. Thank you Lee for using our products and for showing just how effective they are as well as ensuring everyone at Ability Handling could park their cars and walk into work safely.
